Who We Are
International teachers Michael and Melody Lavin are the directors of Victorious Living Ministries International. A part of the ministry since its inception, Melody now oversees and directs all aspects of the organizations’ global outreach.
Melody is a singer, songwriter, worship clinician, and sought-after speaker. She is a graduate of Rhema Bible Training College, and holds a doctorate in Ministry from Vision Christian Bible College & Seminary. Melody is the author of To None But God and Do Not Attempt This At Home.
Michael is a consultant for churches in the areas of technology and finance. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Penn State University. Michael also has authored Bible school curriculum for Victorious Living Ministries International.
Michael and Melody present practical and spiritual teaching that is relatable and applicable. They are passionate about helping people to fulfill their unique purpose in life.

We train and empower Christian believers for ministry to others. We help people to reach their full potential through mentoring, customized training, Bible school education, and ongoing support.
We specialize in assessing the specific needs of a church, organization or geographical area, and we partner to create customized, immersive learning solutions that focus on building foundational, personal ministry skills. At times, we create partnerships with churches and organizations globally to establish Bible Schools and other forms of ministry training.
We work to develop the whole person from the inside out.
Our Story
Mary ministering in Africa
Revs. Paul and Mary Birt had a vision to give people a practical understanding of the Bible and the truths that would help them to live a victorious life. That vision led them to pastor, to travel as Bible teachers to multiple continents, and to establish a Bible Training Centre in East Africa. Through their commitment to people and to God, they trained ministers from over 150 denominations, reached a global audience with their books and recorded messages, and impacted the lives of millions of people.
The Birts pastored from 1963 through 1979. In 1980, they began their traveling ministry and missions work. In 1979, Paul Birt Ministries was founded, and the name was changed in 1990 to Victorious Living Ministries International, Incorporated. As the Birts established an international office and Bible Training Centre in East Africa in 1985, Bible schools in North America and Europe operated concurrently, overseen by Michael and Melody Lavin.

In 2002, the Birts built an orphanage, a primary school, and a medical centre in Bungoma, Kenya. That compassionate outreach to the people of Bungoma County operated until 2014. The facilities have been transferred to a graduate of the Bible Training Centre’s charter class, whose churches and ministry organization will continue the work that the Birts began.
In 2012, Rev. Mary Birt entered her heavenly reward. Paul remained in East Africa, continuing to train people for ministry. In 2014, and under the direction of Rev. Paul Birt, the organizations in East Africa, the United States, and Canada fully transitioned to the leadership of Melody Lavin.
We continue our purpose of reaching the world with God’s Word through teaching, training, Bible schools, partnerships with churches and missions organizations, and online education.
